Holy crap!!! 😂I have my Sony a5100 just seated on my closet for about 4 years then when you mention about this video has being recorded with that camera I was on shock, it’s. A beautiful camera

I bought my first long ago. I bought another used one a couple years ago. I bought my daughter a used one. I have a useful collection of lenses. I also have a a6400 when i need better video. The a5100 is my absolute favorite. I may eventually add a zve10 as i agree that it's the closest replacement. I mostly use the ttartisan 25/f2, with occasional use of the Sigma 18-50, and even the 16-50 kit lens. It still kicks axx in 2024.

Well, I own one since new. I'm by no means a professional or enthusiast photographer, I just wanted something nicer than a phone camera at the time. It held up great.

this was very helpful, thank you very much for putting it together. I do have a question. I follow your instructions on how to save the file to the T. In CB they changes are saved and after renaming it I can see that everything saved correctly. However when i click on the file to play in Quicktime the changes are not there. Just FYI I'm making the clips to upload to Instagram and YouTub. What am i missing ? Thanks for your help!

I think you missed Tamron lens. I like them.They are weather sealed. You don't mention weather sealed in the video.

As a default where should the photo settings be? From my understanding you should start with: 100 ISO Lowest aperture I am not sure with shutter speed and adjust as needed.

I'm gonna visit Thailand soon and I have this camera as well as iPhone 13. So would it be worthy to take the camera along with me? (I'm travelling alone, that too first time so trying to reduce any hassle)

Thanks for the informative video, i bought this camera to use it for cooking videos but im feeling a bit frustrated cause the focus of the camera keep switching between my hands and other equipment while working which doesn’t make the video look smooth and professional, I don’t know if this is the wrong the camera for this type of filming or maybe I’m doing the wrong sitting, but as i know that the intelligent auto mode is the one recommended which I use, i would really appreciate your reply

I really like it but MAN not having that EFV is a bummer when you’re outside in the light, which is the only place it works well

Great comparison. I want to upgrade from my kit lens. I only wish there wasn't such a hefty price difference.

From my experience - the biggest game changers have come from my lenses, not the cameras. For instance, I have the Sony a5100 as a work webcam b/c of your recommendations. Then I bought the ZVE10. Then I bought these lenses: Sigma 16mm, Sigma 56mm. I even fell in love with the Sony 55-210, and then upgraded to the Sony 70-350mm based on your videos. What a difference it's been b/c of these lenses! I'm even having fun with the Sony 30mm macro doing cool up close shots and seeing crazy details. Between the ZVE10 mark 1 and mark 2, I think the only reason I would buy the mark 2 is if they added in-body stabilization to it. That would make all of my lenses stabilized, not just the OSS ones.

What are we thinking? Stick with the Mk 1 or wait for the Mk 2?

I bought the 23mm 1.4 lens on my ZV e10 upon slapping the lens. Aperture Dial isnt working only the aperture ring. Any thoughts?

Hi, I would like to put it next to my main camera and as a lens I would use a ttartisan 25mm f/2, I would need a very compact camera to carry around when I don't have space for but my main camera. Could that be a good idea or would it be better for me to look directly at a sony a6000?

It's a great lens, with one huge downside. The only time it isn't sharp is at 350mm when you are focusing on a far away subject.... which was what I found myself doing 95% of the time.

Hmmh i don't have jpeg image size 24M. Only 16,8,4... Any idea why? Edit: It was because i used a different aspect ratio (1:1)

Currently have the a5100 and it has been hard to let go, but I am looking for a camera that can vlog for longer periods of time. I’m looking at the Sony ZV-II for video; however, it is not the best for photos. Do you think the a5100 compares to the Cannon G7x mark II or Sony RX100 VII for photography or are those point and shoot cameras now superior to a5100?

How do you make the backround blurred does anybody know what to do?

I just bought catalyst prepare, just for batch/bulk stabalization for all clips, but its greyed out whenever I highlight more then 1 clip, I thought that was the point of upgrading from catalyst browse to prepare, am I missing something? Someone please help!!!!
